The 5 Best Bible Verses For Christmas Cards

Christmas is such a wonderful time. Most Christians look forward to the holiday all year round. The season is the perfect time to reconnect with family and friends by getting together and sharing gifts, meals and worship.

Another way to connect with others during this special time of the year is to send Christmas cards. Many people include photos and other mementos in their cards. This year, why not do something a little different and share your faith with those that you love the most by including your favorite scriptures with your cards?

God’s word is real and powerful. Sharing Scripture with someone might send hope that someone needs this holiday season. You can help shed light into the dark or feed a needy soul with a powerful verse.

If you can’t find the perfect verse to share, don’t worry — we have compiled this list of five Bible verses that are uplifting and heartfelt.

#1: John 1:14

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth”

During the holidays especially, we often get too distracted or busy to focus on Jesus Christ. The message of what Christmas is about often gets lost in the shuffle of the holiday season.
This verse reminds people not to forget the reason for the holidays. Jesus Christ chooses to live among us. He laid aside all of the glory of heaven so that he could walk in this world and point us to God. May we never forget this miracle.

#2: Isaiah 9:6

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

This verse reminds us that “Christ” should never be taken out of Christmas. Although it has been almost 2,000 years since Jesus was born, he is still needed and relevant today. Christ is active in our world. He gives us real peace and faith. Christmas is the time for celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, and this verse reminds us of that.

#3: Romans 8:38-39

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The holiday season can be a tough time of the year for those that have experienced a loss. Whether it is a divorce, death of a loved one or an illness, painful memories of these experiences can take the joy out of Christmas. Romans 8:38-39 sends a message to those that are currently experiencing or have gone through significant loss and sadness during this time of the year that God cares and that nothing can take his love away. He will always be there to guide and comfort.

#4 Luke 2:10-11

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'”

With the uncertainty of terrorist attacks and the threat of war, many people are afraid and worried this holiday season. The world’s strife causes many people to feel vulnerable and helpless. This verse reminds us not to be scared. Jesus came to the Earth in the middle of the night. He knew what he had to do. Even though things seem dark and uncertain, Jesus is never unknown. His love will never change. He brings light to the world, so we don’t have to worry.

#5: Matthew 1:23

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”)

This verse is a great reminder for people that are struggling with difficult decisions ahead –that things are never easy. God never promised that they would be. However, he did assure us that he would be there every step of the way to guide and direct us during difficult times. We are never alone when we have God. This verse can bring powerful hope to someone that needs it during the holidays.
